PRESENTING: ALAN B. ROSE

Oct 10, 1986

Dr. Rose is an Australian citizen who has studied and participated in various other activities in the United States. He received his Ph.D. in Education Administration in 1985 from the University of South Carolina.  His research dealt with home school families in South Carolina (see following section).

After receiving a four-year athletic scholarship to the University of South Carolina, Dr. Rose earned his B.A. and Interdisciplinary Master of Arts (I.M.A.) at the University of South Carolina.  His experience as an educator is quite varied. He has taught high school, primary school, and preschool in the U.S., and high school and primary school students in Victoria. He has also lectured in physical education at the University of South Carolina and has taught stress management clinics in the U.S.

Several business ventures have been a part of his life.  He owned and operated “Alan Rose’s Health and Fitness Centre” which has over 600 members.  He owned and operated “Rose’s Recreational Ranch,” a children’s holiday ranch.  In addition, he is the founder and principal of the “Triple R School Co-operative, Ltd.”
Dr. Rose’s interest in home schooling started ten years ago when he and his wife educated their two eldest children at home.  They received much pressure from other parents and finally decided to start a private Christian school.  Dr. and Mrs. Rose live in a small country town and consider their school an extension of the home. Their school enrolls 84 students.
